Founder Tess O’Brien is a clean energy marketing/communications professional with experience in both consumer + commercial markets. In her previous role as Marketing Director for renewable energy developer and marketer, she managed marketing and operations for green power programs in 22 utility markets, launched green electricity products in deregulated markets and developed a community solar program model. While working in the voluntary renewable energy industry, Tess developed a respect for the challenges all parties face in the business and recognized an opportunity for industry players to come together to create and share greater value. That need inspired the CleanPowerPerks model: benefitting clean power customers as a means to serve the industry at large. Tess has an MBA in Managing for Sustainability, a BA in Environmental Studies, is on the board of Net Impact Boston Professional Chapter, a member of Women of Wind Energy and also has a background in public relations and advertising.
